Why Savarkar deserves the Bharat Ratna – 1

The freedom struggle for a sovereign India was a long and gritty movement and the era saw glorious leaders emerge to achieve this dream. But while most of them are remembered, lauded and even worshipped, critics of Veer Savarkar have isolated and prevented him from gaining the glory he deserves. Even though a few raise questions and demand that Bharat Ratna be conferred to this revolutionary, the honour still remains to be granted. Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was a revolutionary who dedicated his entire life to his motherland. His contribution has been long disregarded and the act of being recognized as an exceptional citizen should see the light of reality without further delay and debate.
